Getting Started with DocuSign Gen and Negotiate for Salesforce

DocuSign Negotiate for Salesforce lets you do business faster by automating the generation, negotiation and approval of customised agreements. Seamlessly merge Salesforce data into agreements, collaborate with internal and external reviewers on a central version, execute the agreement and then store it back in Salesforce.

 

Follow this step-by-step guide to get DocuSign Gen and Negotiate for Salesforce up and running for your organisation.

1 Prepare for Installation

Prepare for Installation

To install and/or set up Gen and Negotiate, you must have DocuSign Admin and Salesforce Admin permissions.

If you don't have these permissions, please reach out to your company's current DocuSign Admin and Salesforce Admin to assist with steps 2 and 3 or have them grant you administrator permissions.

Required: Salesforce subdomain

A unique Salesforce subdomain is required to install and manage Salesforce Lightning components, including DocuSign Gen and Negotiate. Click the link below to learn more, and ensure your company has a subdomain set up before proceeding to the next step.

2 Install your DocuSign Apps

Install your DocuSign Apps

The video below will walk you through the installation and set up of your DocuSign for Salesforce apps.

Required: Latest Version

If you are currently using DocuSign eSignature for Salesforce, you'll still need to follow the instructions in the video below to install or update DocuSign Apps Launcher. The DocuSign Apps Launcher is required to use DocuSign Gen and Negotiate. 

If you plan to continue using DocuSign eSignature for Salesforce in conjunction with Gen and Negotiate, you will need the latest versions of both packages (DocuSign eSignature for Salesforce and DocuSign Apps Launcher) for proper functionality.

3 Add and Manage your Users

Required

Ensure that you grant yourself Generator and Collaborator permissions as well—these permissions will be required in order for you to build Gen templates in the following steps.

4 Build your First Gen Template

Build your First Gen Template

Now that you’ve installed and set up DocuSign Gen and Negotiate for Salesforce, you’re ready to build your first template. This short video will guide you through creating your first Gen template. Then, check out the DocuSign University course below for more guidance and best practices.

5 Send for Review

Send for Review

With your first template built, you’re ready to start reviewing and approving your documents. Check out this short video, then enrol in the DocuSign University course below to learn more.

6 Send your Document for Signature

Send your Document for Signature

With your approvals finalised, you’re now ready to send your document for signature.

7 Enable your Users

Enable your Users

Congratulations! You're now ready to start creating, approving and sending your documents with DocuSign Gen and DocuSign Negotiate for Salesforce.

Best Practice

Add at least one additional Admin to your account in case you're ever out of the office. We recommend sharing this checklist and the links below with any additional admins and all your users to help them get started with DocuSign Gen for Salesforce.
